About New Sycamore Orientation for Families
New Sycamore Orientation is your chance to experience Indiana State alongside your student. Held in person on campus, this day helps families feel more informed and prepared for the exciting transition ahead. While all first-year students are required to attend orientation, family members are encouraged to join us and become part of our Sycamore community from the very beginning.
Students can register their families for NSO in the New Student Dashboard. At Family Orientation, you’ll gain the information and campus connections you need to feel supported and confident during your student’s time at Indiana State.
Here’s what you can expect at New Sycamore Orientation:
- Find out about exciting programs and events hosted by Family Programs.
- Learn about Academic Advising and our Sycamore One Stop (S.O.S.).
- Hear from relevant departments about campus safety.
- Learn more about Commuter Services and Residential Life.
- Discover ways you can best support your college student.
- Connect with faculty and staff from your student’s academic colleges.
- Meet with a financial aid counselor.
When your student meets with a financial aid counselor during orientation, you’ll be able to join them for that conversation.
