How to Apply: Traditional BSN

This is a four-year, on-campus track.

  • All clinical courses include in-person experiences held on the Indiana State University campus as well as at other Indiana locations.
  • Check State Eligibility to see if the Traditional BSN is recognized in your state.
  • Four-year course of study (consecutive fall and spring semesters)
    • Students must commit to full-time study in order to complete the program in four years as designed.
  • There are two application cycles annually for the traditional track.
    • Applicants are ranked using the following eligibility criteria:
      • Overall cumulative GPA from all collegiate institutions
      • Science GPA (anatomy, physiology, chemistry and microbiology and their accompanying labs)
  • Averages for Recently Admitted Students
    • Overall cumulative GPA from all collegiate institutions: 3.49
    • Science GPA: 3.23
  • Student Achievement Outcome Data for All Programs

Application Deadline

  • May 1 deadline for Fall program entry
  • November 1 deadline for Spring program entry
  • Prerequisite courses must be successfully completed within 10 years of application or enrolled in at the time of application.
    • Courses completed more than ten years ago must be repeated. 

Guaranteed Admission:  

The Guaranteed Admission Program provides accepted students the opportunity to bypass the competitive nursing program application process and secure admission into the nursing major. 

To qualify for Guaranteed Admission, students must:

  • Have an overall high school GPA of 3.8 or higher
  • Apply to Indiana State by November 15 of their senior year of high school
  • Be accepted to Indiana State by December 1 of their senior year of high school

Students that meet the above requirements will be invited to apply for guaranteed admission through the online application process and may be selected to interview. 

Students who do not meet one or more of these requirements may still apply through the standard competitive application process, provided they meet all general application requirements.

The nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN) and the Indiana State Board of Nursing. (See accreditation for more information.)
