Program Availability 

The Music History minor is available on the Indiana State University campus, located in Terre Haute, Indiana. The minor is not available online. Designed to complement music majors, the minor is only available to undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree. 

Courses for the Music History Minor

(15 credits)

The Music History minor explores music across historical periods, cultures, and traditions. Through courses that examine influential composers, major musical styles, and significant works, you will strengthen your skills in critical listening, research, and musical analysis while gaining a deeper understanding of music’s impact on society.

  • MUS 439 – Advanced Topics in Music History
