Hospice care is often misunderstood, yet it can provide comfort, dignity, and support during one of life’s most important transitions. Tracy Rippy of Hospice of the Wabash Valley and the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care explains what hospice is, how it differs from palliative care, who qualifies for services, and how hospice care is funded. Tracy also discusses the “Blue Book,” a guide often used by hospice professionals to help families understand the dying process and help navigate the physical, emotional, and spiritual changes that occur in the final months, weeks, days, and hours of life. This compassionate program offers valuable knowledge, reassurance, and plenty of time for questions.
