The Community School of the Arts (CSA) offers classes, camps, lessons, workshops, and other arts and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) opportunities throughout the year. Our programs are open to all ages and experience levels. CSA is located in Terre Haute, on the campus of Indiana State University.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to inspire creativity and lifelong learning while fostering a sense of community, making every program an opportunity for growth, exploration, and joy for individuals of all ages. Our core purpose is to enrich the lives of those who live in the Wabash Valley regardless of age, economic circumstances, or ability levels. Through Fine and Performing Arts and STEAM-based learning experiences, we create an inclusive environment where creativity flourishes and connections are made.
Impact
The Community School of the Arts, a department within Indiana State University's Division of Student Experience and Engagement, is one of the few comprehensive educational outreach programs of its kind in Indiana and among a small number nationwide. Through classes, camps, lessons, workshops, and community engagement opportunities, CSA serves learners of all ages while providing Indiana State University students with valuable experiential learning opportunities through teaching, leadership, and community-based arts education.
